Massage Near MRT Stations Bangkok — Walking Distance Guide

by Nicolas M.·

Bangkok's MRT Blue Line connects some of the city's best massage districts. Unlike BTS stations, which primarily serve Sukhumvit and Silom, the MRT reaches areas like Huai Khwang and Ratchadaphisek where locals go for massage — and prices reflect that. This guide covers every MRT station with worthwhile massage venues within walking distance.

MRT Sukhumvit (Interchange with BTS Asok)

The Sukhumvit MRT station puts you at the Asok interchange — one of Bangkok's busiest transit hubs. Exit toward Sukhumvit Road and you are on the edge of the Nana-Asok massage corridor.

Within 10 minutes walk:

  • Multiple Thai and oil massage shops on Soi 13 and Soi 15
  • Mid-range oil venues along Soi 19
  • Access to the full Sukhumvit massage strip via BTS connection

Prices: Thai ฿250-600, oil ฿700-1,200 Best for: Oil and Thai massage, BTS interchange to Phrom Phong nuru district

For the full Sukhumvit breakdown, see our Sukhumvit massage guide.

MRT Phetchaburi

One stop northeast of Sukhumvit, Phetchaburi station is less touristy. The surrounding area is office-dominated with a handful of Thai and oil massage shops catering to local workers.

Within 10 minutes walk:

  • Three Thai massage shops near Exit 2, along Asoke-Din Daeng Road
  • One quality oil massage venue on a side soi off Phetchaburi Road

Prices: Thai ฿200-400, oil ฿500-800 Best for: Budget Thai massage, avoiding tourist pricing

MRT Thailand Cultural Centre

This station is the gateway to Ratchadaphisek's entertainment and massage district. Exit toward Ratchadaphisek Road and head north — within 10-15 minutes you reach several of Bangkok's established soapy massage venues.

Within 15 minutes walk:

  • Major soapy massage venues on Ratchadaphisek Road
  • Several oil and Thai massage shops along the walk
  • Night market area with foot massage options

Prices: Soapy ฿1,500-3,500, Thai ฿250-400, oil ฿500-900 Best for: Soapy massage at competitive prices, nightlife area combination

The Ratchada soapy venues accessible from this station offer some of Bangkok's lowest soapy prices. Budget-tier sessions start at ฿1,500 for a complete 60-minute experience. See our soapy massage explainer for what to expect.

MRT Huai Khwang

Huai Khwang is Bangkok's best-value massage station. The area around the MRT exit is dense with massage venues — soapy, oil, Thai and foot — all priced below Sukhumvit equivalents. The clientele is predominantly local, which keeps things honest.

Within 5 minutes walk:

  • Two established soapy massage venues
  • Multiple oil and Thai massage shops
  • Late-night massage options (some open past midnight)
  • Street-side foot massage near the night market

Prices: Soapy ฿1,500-2,500, oil ฿500-900, Thai ฿200-350, foot ฿150-250 Best for: Best value soapy in Bangkok, late-night sessions, budget oil and Thai

Huai Khwang's soapy venues are where to go if you want the full experience without Sukhumvit or Ratchada markups. Rooms are clean, bathtubs are standard-sized, and therapists are experienced. The atmosphere is more local and less polished than tourist-facing venues, which some visitors prefer.

MRT Sutthisan

One stop north of Huai Khwang, Sutthisan offers a quieter version of the same value proposition. Fewer venues but less competition for therapist time.

Within 10 minutes walk:

  • Two oil and Thai massage shops near Exit 1
  • One mid-range soapy venue on a side street
  • Several foot massage shops along the main road

Prices: Thai ฿200-350, oil ฿500-800, soapy ฿1,800-2,500 Best for: Quiet alternative to Huai Khwang, walk-in availability guaranteed

MRT Silom (Interchange with BTS Sala Daeng)

Silom is Bangkok's financial district and the MRT station puts you on the southern edge of Silom Road. The area has quality massage aimed at office workers and hotel guests.

Within 10 minutes walk:

  • Several established Thai and oil massage shops along Silom Road
  • Spa-grade venues in the side sois (Soi Convent, Soi Thaniya)
  • Foot massage shops near Patpong Night Market

Prices: Thai ฿350-600, oil ฿700-1,500, aromatherapy ฿1,000-2,000 Best for: Quality Thai massage, after-work sessions, spa-grade oil massage

Silom's massage shops are a notch above basic — the financial district clientele demands clean rooms and competent therapists. Prices reflect this but remain fair. Soi Convent has two excellent oil massage venues that close at 10 PM — best visited between 5 PM and 8 PM when office workers fill the nearby restaurants.

MRT Sam Yan

Adjacent to Chulalongkorn University, Sam Yan is a student-heavy area. Massage prices are among Bangkok's lowest.

Within 10 minutes walk:

  • Budget Thai massage from ฿180 (60 min) near the university
  • Oil massage from ฿400 (60 min)
  • Multiple foot massage options under ฿200

Prices: Thai ฿180-350, oil ฿400-700, foot ฿150-200 Best for: Absolute lowest prices in central Bangkok

The student-area shops are basic but functional. Therapists are often from Chiang Mai or Isaan with proper training backgrounds. At these prices, there is no reason not to get a daily massage if you are staying nearby.

MRT Lumphini

Lumphini station is near the park and several mid-range to upscale hotels. Massage options lean toward the spa end of the spectrum.

Within 10 minutes walk:

  • Two spa-style massage venues on Wireless Road
  • Thai massage shops near Lumphini Park entrances
  • Hotel spa options (premium pricing)

Prices: Thai ฿400-700, oil ฿1,000-2,000, spa packages ฿2,000-4,000 Best for: Spa-grade massage, post-park relaxation

Practical Tips

Buy an MRT stored-value card. Single-journey tokens work but the stored-value card (฿100 deposit + top-up) saves time at ticket machines. The card works on MRT only — it is separate from the BTS Rabbit card.

Peak hours affect your walk, not the massage. MRT platforms are crowded during rush hour (7-9 AM, 5-7 PM) but massage venues near stations are actually less busy during these times. Workers are commuting, not getting massages. Arrive at the venue around 6 PM for the best of both worlds — thinner crowds at the station and full therapist availability.

Late-night MRT. The MRT runs until midnight. Huai Khwang and Sutthisan venues that stay open past midnight are reachable by MRT if you arrive before the last train, but you will need Grab or taxi for the return trip.

Combine stations. MRT single journeys between adjacent stations cost ฿16-23. You could easily visit Huai Khwang for a budget soapy, then MRT two stops to Sukhumvit and BTS to Phrom Phong for a premium nuru — all in one evening. The transit cost is negligible compared to the massage prices.
